Culturaft sponsorship for pianist Irina Botan

Culturaft is thrilled to announce its sponsorship of the distinguished pianist Irina Botan for her Master of Advanced Pedagogical Studies at Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. This support will help Irina continue her professional development and contribute to music education in Switzerland. Culturaft’s sponsorship will cover the tuition fees required for her studies at the Zürich University of the Arts.

The Culturaft Association’s support has been instrumental in Irina Botan’s artistic growth, and she expresses her gratitude for the opportunities it has provided:

Born in 1981, Irina Botan began her music studies at Dinu Lipatti Music School in Bucharest. At 14, she earned a full scholarship to the Yehudi Menuhin School in England and later graduated with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Irina has studied under renowned teachers and received masterclasses from celebrated musicians such as Murray Perahia and Mstislav Rostropovich.

Irina’s international performance career includes solo and chamber music concerts at prestigious venues like Wigmore Hall, Berlin Philharmonic, and Royal Festival Hall. She has performed at notable festivals including the Enescu Festival in Romania and the International Piano Series in London. Irina has also played for members of the British royal family at Windsor Castle and St. James’s Palace.

Irina Botan will begin her Master of Advanced Pedagogical Studies in September 2024, aiming to further her passion for teaching classical piano at music schools in Switzerland.
